Transformer Noise Control
Technical Challenges
Main transformer low-frequency noise disturbs residents; traditional soundproofing measures have limited effectiveness.
Solutions
Low-frequency sound barrier combined with sound-absorbing enclosure
Implementation Results
Sensitive point noise reduced by 18dB; complaint resolved.
Project Background
This 110kV substation is located near a residential area. The low-frequency hum generated by the main transformer during operation penetrates easily and remains clearly audible even at night, leading to persistent complaints from nearby residents.
Technical Details
- Acoustic Barrier: 4m height, composite soundproof panels, noise reduction ≥ 3 dB
- Acoustic Barrier: Inner lining of sound-absorbing material to absorb reflected sound waves.
- Basic vibration isolation: Install elastic isolators on the transformer base.
- Top Enclosure: Removable soundproof cover for easy maintenance access.
- Ventilation design: Natural ventilation with soundproof louvers to ensure heat dissipation requirements.
