Compressor Room Noise Reduction Project
Technical Challenges
Multiple compressors running simultaneously cause workshop noise exceeding 100 dB.
Solutions
Complete soundproof enclosure with integrated ventilation and cooling system
Implementation Results
Noise outside the workshop reduced by 40 dB, significantly improving the work environment.
Project Background
The chemical plant has 6 large air compressors centrally located in the compressor room to supply compressed air for the entire facility. During operation, these compressors generate high-intensity noise and vibration, posing a threat to operators' hearing.
Technical Details
- Total soundproof enclosure area: 800 sqm (covers entire compressor room)
- Wall structure: Double steel plate + 100mm centrifugal glass wool + sound-absorbing panel
- Floor treatment: floating floor with vibration-damping pads to isolate structure-borne noise.
- Ventilation System: Independent supply and exhaust ducts + silencer, air changes ≥ 12 times/h
- Lighting System: Explosion-proof LED fixtures meeting safety requirements for chemical facilities.
