Sabine Acoustics completes noise reduction project at a major automotive plant
Sabine Acoustic Technology recently completed a noise control project for a major automotive manufacturing plant. The project involved comprehensive noise mitigation across high-noise areas including the stamping and welding workshops, marking another successful case in our automotive industry expertise.
Project Background
The automotive plant is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province and primarily manufactures auto parts. Excessive noise generated by stamping and welding equipment has caused long-term exceedance of boundary noise limits, disrupting the living environment of nearby residents and triggering rectification requirements from environmental authorities.
Technical Challenges
- Peak noise during stamping equipment operation reaches 95dB(A).
- Multiple robots operating simultaneously in the welding workshop create a significant cumulative noise effect.
- Production must continue uninterrupted; long-term shutdowns for construction are not allowed.
- Factory boundary noise must be reduced below 55dB(A) to pass environmental acceptance.
Solutions
The Sabine Acoustics team developed a comprehensive noise reduction solution based on on-site surveys and acoustic simulation analysis:
- Custom Soundproof Booth:Design and install modular soundproof enclosures for stamping presses and welding robots. Constructed with double-layer galvanized steel and high-density acoustic insulation, achieving noise reduction of 30-35 dB.
- Silent Louver:Install sound-absorbing louvers on the intake and exhaust vents of the acoustic room to ensure ventilation and heat dissipation while reducing airflow noise, achieving a noise reduction of 2 dB.
- Acoustic CeilingInstall perforated aluminum panel acoustic ceilings on the workshop ceiling to absorb reflected sound and reduce reverberation noise.
- Vibration Isolation Foundation:Install spring isolators on large equipment to reduce vibration transmission through the building structure.
Implementation Results
After two months of construction and commissioning, the project has achieved significant results:
- Noise in the stamping workshop at 1 meters from the equipment decreased from 95 dB to 62 dB, achieving a reduction of 33 dB.
- Average noise level in the welding workshop reduced from 88 dB to 58 dB.
- Plant boundary noise decreased from 78 dB to 52 dB, well below the environmental standard of 55 dB.
- Successfully passed environmental department acceptance and received high praise from customers.
The successful implementation of this project further demonstrates Sabine Acoustics' technical expertise and engineering capabilities. The company will continue to provide professional noise control solutions for manufacturing clients, supporting their journey toward green, sustainable development.
